In my free time I am a cultural worker for a South Asian Art collective organising events around book launches, exhibitions, panel discussions & workshops.
A Case study combining my Design & cultural worker skills
The art collective I am part of needed to use the window display to feature South Asian artists. We had to change the display weekly, showcasing a new artist each week.
This was needed to prevent favouritism towards certain artists.
The brief
The challenge
Being a voluntary organisation, none of us had the time & energy to change the window display every week.
So how shall I showcase so many artists without replacing the displays every week?
The solution
Build a permanent design artefact on the glass window display with an overview of our collective and QR code which when scanned takes the user to a link of the featured artist for the week.

The result
The illustration was done by a colleague from the collective.
The entire layout was printed using radium, and the QR code connected to the artists' work.
In spring and summer, we showcased 10 South Asian artists, celebrating their contributions in illustration, music, and writing. This initiative highlighted creativity and appreciation for South Asian cultures. Each artist provided a unique perspective, enriching our understanding of the region’s artistry.
It helped us as an art collective with the neighbours who live around & every guest we came for our events.
The impact
Love for food
In my free time, I become a culinary genius, using spatulas like wands. I immerse myself in my vibrant kitchen, where aromas and flavours mingle twice a day.
My most ambitious food project was cooking Chicken Biriyani for 30 guests. I lead a team of 4 friends and we were left with the guests asking for more!
